My Scope of Practice

When venturing into the world of holistic health care, it’s important to understand some basic information. The information provided below is to help you understand what I do and do not do. As a part of maintaining an ethical practice, I’ve listed my scope of practice so that you can use this information in determining if my services may be of help to you.

  • I am an Ayurvedic Practitioner, practicing Ayurveda, which is a Medical Science. I am also a Reiki Master and Light worker. These are energy medicines.

  • The Ayurvedic recommendations I make will be related to the following:

  • Diet- (ahara) Ayurvedic guidelines for eating, food energetics, combining foods and food preparation. This information tends to be different than dietary guidelines given from a western based Nutritionist/Dietician.
  • Lifestyle- (vihara) Ayurvedic guidelines for lifestyle. This encompasses all of the parts which make up our lives including: daily routines, seasonal routines, relationships, sleep, habits, thoughts, weather, behavior, work, stress and more. The recommendations given are in an attempt to help keep stress low or to reduce elevated stress levels.
  • Herbs and Herbal Preparations/Treatments- If deemed appropriate I will recommend herbs that I feel would help reduce stress and improve your quality of life and well-being.
  • Ayurvedic Body and Mind Therapies- There are many Ayurvedic therapies that can assist in the cleansing, building, balancing process. These are time tested therapies which are ancient in age, but modern in use and effect. These therapies are based upon Ayurvedic principals.

I educate clients and members of the community on how to maintain and improve health through lowering stress and reducing stress factors. I do not make claims that I am an M.D. I am not a Medical Doctor. I do not practice Western Medicine. I do not diagnose disease.

During your appointments with me, we will be discussing your concerns, symptoms and progress. I will be interpreting the information provided by you as well as my own observations based on Ayurvedic Principles. We will focus on your symptoms and their qualities, so that I can make recommendations that help you move back to or closer to balance. Another way of explaining this is to say that I will be assisting you in reducing stress and removing or reducing stress factors. On a separate page, you will find a list of the Ayurvedic services I offer. Sometimes specific diseases will be listed. This is purely meant as a guide for you. It is my intention to make it clear that I cannot guarantee success nor am I treating your medically diagnosed disease. I am, treating the stress that is causing symptoms to show up.  Like cutting the roots so the weed doesn’t continue to grow or turning off the tap so the water stops spilling out of the sink. That is what I do as an Ayurvedic Practitioner; prevention and maintenance of stress. I just want to make this clear to you. I highly suggest that you continue your relationship with your medical doctor. Feel free at any point to discuss the treatments you are considering with your Doctor.

Reiki/Light Work

Reiki and Light work are energy medicines. I use them to help reduce stress, balance energy, increase vital energy and improve quality of life. I do not use them specifically to diagnose or treat disease. The benefits of Reiki and Light work will vary by person.  I have had much success in using Reiki and Light work to help many people feel and function better. Feel free to discuss your use or consideration of Reiki and Light work with your medical Doctor.
